I’m a photographic retoucher in need of a killer cover letter. My portfolio is off the hook, my client list is wow-inspiring. My resume reflects who I am. But I know that it’s the cover letter that’s really going to get me through the door and get people to look at my book. The downer? I suck at talking about myself. I block entirely and agonize for weeks over what to say. So, I want to try putting it in someone else’s hands.

I need one cover letter written. It must be perfect from both a spelling and grammatical stand-point. I don’t want to look like a dolt to potential employers. I will provide you with a plethora of info- my resume and portfolio, my clients, my projects, a bit about my personality, my skills, interesting tidbits (for example: I took a university course in anatomy in order to dissect cadevers and understand bone and muscle structure better than what the lame artist anatomy drawing classes were teacher). I will leave it to you to decide how to disseminate that information into a cover letter that gets me noticed.

I’d like a tone that is NOT stiff and generic. I do NOT want “My name is ___ and I am interested in ___ position that you posted in ____ newspaper.” I’d like something a little colloquial, intelligent and representative of an artist, not some corporate suit. I’d love to find someone who can come up with something really creative and unique.

Please note that you *****MUST***** be able to show me samples. Preferably, I’d like to see witty cover letters you’ve done but I will also look at related materials (website copy, sales brochures— things that SELL a person or a product in a creative way).

I’ve never hired a writer before and I want to pay a fair rate. Please submit a rate with your bid. Don’t lowball me. Ask for a fair going rate. I’m an artist, I will support fellow artists at an appropriate professional ratel. If you send me a quote telling me you’ll do it for $3.23/hour and it’ll take 3 hours, I’m not going to take you seriously.

Payment will be made via paypal immediately upon completion of the project. I will pay for any merchant fees that are charged. If you are in the US, I can do a cashier’s check in place of Paypal.
